After doing it one way for so long, it’s hard to see how it could change so drastically.
Will it?
“2025 will be the year of AI Agents”
Anyone who’s spent any time in marketing or tech circles has been hearing that for a while now.
As a marketer and AI enthusiast, this has been weighing heavily on me as we approach the two week point of 2025.
On one hand, I gotta be honest – I’m a bit terrified of the destruction that AI could potentially bring to marketing and “white collar” jobs as a whole.
On the other hand, I’m fascinated at what we can do right now today with LLMs, and what AI could allow humans to achieve in the future.
I’m not just talking about the fun image that an LLM popped out for this post.
There’s bigger things on the horizon. Much bigger.
It’s a mental struggle without a doubt.
I have so many questions.
“How can a society sustain itself when so many humans are put out of work?”
“Can it actually go that far?”
“It can’t, right?”
There’s no way AI can successfully wade through all the convoluted rules, regulations and “small print” that comes along with each marketing client.
“Right?”
I mean.
I think we know the answer to that.
But what’s the timeline?
For full scale Ai Agents doing most of the work.
I can’t see it this year.
But 3 years. 5 years.
I think that seems reasonable based on how fast LLMs have improved just in the last 1.5 years.
There’s no question that AI is going to change Marketing as we know it.
I go through stages.
Some days are better than others.
But this post is a motivator for me (and hopefully you!) to accept that the change is coming (here?).
We can either lay down and give up or jump in and give it our best shot.
I’m not giving up!
The next logical step for me is helping my clients learn and navigate this new marketing world.
That might be leaning into Google’s built-in AI for Google Ads (and what Google Ads becomes here on out) or how we can leverage the power of LLMs for analyzing data and streamlining business operations.
Let’s do this.
